There is something different in the second Principal Mentoring Program held in this quarter as the issue is very relevant with the current education trend; being an International school. An International school is closely defined as a school that promotes international education, by adopting an international curriculum or by following a national curriculum different from that of the country the school is located in. In this Principal Mentoring Program, preparing the school to have international standards is the issue.
The two-day sessions allowed the Principals to learn about the International standard school in depth. There were also many educational practitioners invited to this program. These included Barbara Cock, the Principal of a prestigious International School in Surabaya, and Agi Rachmat, etc. The speakers truly opened the participants’ eyes as they acquired more information and experience from the first hand resources.
All of the Principals were also actively involved in this program. Some of them shared their experience for successfully being selected as RSBI (Rintisan Sekolah Bertaraf International) and earning ISO certification.
At the end of the program, all of the Principals had the same view that RSBI can be the answer for the needs of education systems that is able to compete with global competition. To provide International standard education, the schools are required to improve the human resources’ competence, language proficiency, skills, and knowledge on Information and Communication Technology. The most important thing is to change their paradigms and mindsets to be internationally and technologically minded people.

There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.
