Following its success in earning “A” for School Accreditation, SMAN 20 Surabaya, one of HMS USP schools got an opportunity to be the host for a one-day Counseling Workshop on 8 January 2009. It was attended by some officials from Surabaya Education Office, the committee of State and Private School Principal Deliberation (MKKS), counseling teachers in high schools, state and private vocational schools in Surabaya. And it was an honor for the school to be visited by Mr. Bambang Dwi Harto, Surabaya Major who officially opened this workshop.
In this occasion, the Surabaya Major encouraged the schools to constantly improve their teaching performance so that they could be as successful as SMAN 20 in achieving the school accreditation. He, furthermore, reminded the teachers, particularly the counseling teachers to be aware of students' psychological develepment.
Completing his visit, Mr. Bambang conducted a tour in the school and talked with some students in person. His coming will undoubtedly bring about some advantages to the school such as full attention to improve the school facilities and increasing public interest in the existence of SMAN 20 Surabaya.
