USP Graduation of SMAN 3 Depok PDF Print E-mail

The three-year United Schools Program of  Sampoerna Foundation to improve the school quality at SMAN 3 Depok has successfully been completed. The achievement of this partnership was celebrated in a graduation ceremony held at this school on 25 November 2008.

 

 

Coincided with Teachers National Day, the ceremony went on very lively. It was opened by 5 students performing a traditional dance from West Java in welcome of the honorable guests and all who attended the event that Tuesday morning.

 

After SMAN 3 Depok choir lead the audience singing the National Anthem, Bpk. Achmadi gave a speech about how SF played a crucial role in improving the school’s quality. He quoted one teaching method in which teachers as class instructors should place students as a center of whole learning process. He emphasized that teachers should take a role not only as instructors but also as friends. He believed that with this kind of teaching method, students’ psychological condition will be positively affected.

 

The highlighted achievements from this school were its result of National Examinations and the school rank, which developed during the three-year program of USP implementation. The average rates of natural and social science that was 7.86 in the early year before USP implementation improved to 8.14 for natural science and 8.48 for social science by 2008 of USP graduation year.
