On 23rd and 24th August 2007, Librarians from 21 USP schools participated in Library Management Training held at Putera Sampoerna Foundation, Jakarta. Aimed to provide participants with further knowledge on managing school library resources, the training was separated into 2 sessions:

Discussions and lecture provided by PSF Teacher Institute, and study visit at Global Jaya School’s library. 

On the first day of training, the librarians had interesting interactions in learning and sharing experiences on managing school library collections, grouping and circulation techniques, as well as implementing library stewardship activities in school. On the second day, the librarians visited Global Jaya School to gain further knowledge on library management through a sharing session with the school’s Teacher Librarian, and a survey & interview session on the school’s library system.

Purwanto, a Teacher Librarian from SMAN 1 Pundong, was glad to receive such training. “This is my first training, and it has broadened my horizons and taught me how to manage a library of the future. With the knowledge I got here, I will evaluate our school library management system and develop it to be better.” He said.
